Delete your ConvoBooks account

This is the fastest way. Your account is deleted the moment you confirm and you are signed out automatically:

• Step 1: open the ConvoBooks app and sign in.
• Step 2: tap “Profile”, the last button on the bottom bar.
• Step 3: tap the Menu button (☰), at the top of your profile.
• Step 4: scroll to the bottom of the Menu and tap “Delete account”, in red.
• Step 5: read what will happen and tap “Delete my account” to confirm.

If you already uninstalled the app, lost your phone or cannot sign in, write to us at diosesamorporsiempre.cloud@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account”.

Write from the email address you created the account with. If you cannot, include that email address and the name you appear under in the app.

Before deleting anything we check that the account is yours: if you write from the account's email address, that is enough; if you write from another address, we will send a message to the account's email for you to confirm.

We reply within the following 5 business days and the deletion is completed within 30 days of your request at most. We will let you know by email when it is done.

When the account is deleted, at that very moment, we permanently erase:

• Your name, email address, profile photo and preferred language.
• Your comments, which stop being visible in the app forever, together with the replies to them.
• Your star ratings on the books.
• The books you saved to My list, the books you marked as read and the books you followed.
• Your reading progress and your history of what you have read.
• Your notifications, your notification preferences and the registered phones with their notification tokens.
• Your sign-in log (with the IP address and the type of device) and your searches.
• Your blocks, both the ones you made and the ones made on you, and the reports you sent.

We want to be clear: very little information remains after the account is deleted, and only for these reasons:

• An empty account record, with no time limit: it is left with the name “Usuario eliminado” (deleted user), no photo and an internal made-up email address that cannot be used to contact you. It only exists so the app keeps working and holds no data of yours.
• The record of your comments and ratings, with no time limit: it is marked as deleted, shown to nobody, and no longer has anything that identifies you.
• Reports other people made about your content: 12 months, as a moderation record. Then they are erased.
• Backups: 30 days at most. They renew themselves, so within that period your data disappears from them too.
• Whatever the law requires us to keep: only for as long as that obligation lasts, for example the evidence of a child abuse case reported to the authorities.

If you do not want to leave but do want to erase some things, you can do it yourself from the app:

• A comment: tap the three dots on the comment and choose “Delete comment”.
• A rating: open the book and change or remove your star rating.
• A saved book: open it and choose “Remove from My list”, or tap the bookmark again.
• A book marked as read: open it and remove the read mark.
• The recent searches you see on your phone: tap “Clear” on the search screen.
• Your notification settings and preferred language: change them from the Menu.
• Any other data, such as your reading history or the searches stored on our server: ask us at diosesamorporsiempre.cloud@gmail.com from your account email and we will erase it within 30 days at most.

Can I recover my account after deleting it? No. Deletion is immediate and permanent: there is no waiting period and we cannot recover your account or your content. If you want to come back, you can create a new account, even with the same email address.

What happens to my comments on the books? They stop being visible, together with the replies they had, and your star ratings are removed.

I signed in with Google or Apple. How do I delete my account? The same way: from the app or by email. Deleting your ConvoBooks account does not delete your Google or Apple account. If you also want to remove ConvoBooks' access to your Google account, do it at myaccount.google.com, in the connected apps and services section; for Apple, do it from Settings › your name › Sign in with Apple.

Is uninstalling the app enough? No. Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or your data: follow option 1 or option 2 for that.

Does it cost anything? No. Deleting your account is free. If you have a Pro subscription, remember to cancel it from your Google Play account so it does not renew.
